Kaiser Permanente is moving forward with physical therapists as primary care providers in musculoskeletal care. Our innovative practice environment has always emphasized the highest standards while incorporating the newest, most effective training approaches.
Keeping the needs of our residents in mind, we have created several educational options for you.
As an active practitioner, you know how difficult it can be to plan for a lengthy post-graduate residency. That's why we have designed several learning options.
Below is a brief description of each option. Please click on Option I, II, or III at left for more information.
Option I: Three-month Clinical Mentorship only
- The three-month Mentorship is offered twice per year.
- Session I, Winter: Mid-January to April
- Session II, Fall: September to early December
Option II: Three-month Clinical Mentorship combined with the six-month Advanced Clinical Fellowship
- The six-month Fellowship is offered once per year from May – October.
- Attend the Mentorship and Fellowship consecutively within the same year or
- Complete the Mentorship, return to work in your home state, then complete the six-month Advanced Fellowship within 3 years of your start date
Option III: Manual Therapy Advanced Skills
- California physical therapists or therapists within easy driving distance of the San Francisco Bay Area also have the option of taking a weekend intensive Manual Therapy Advanced Skills series
